Every Institution, as every man has its own past same is the case with this institution also. The journey started with the person known as the father for the poor and freedom fighter Pritish Chandra Dutta with his wife, a renowned social worker Smt. Arti Dutta. They put seed of unique institution named as (Dr. AnnieBesant Hr. Sec. School). Though Annie Besant was a foreigner but she was fully devoted & influenced by the Indian culture & society. As she did many great works for the up-liftment of society.
This School was started with the same view for educating the students belonging to middle class family. After seeing the interest of the children in Music & Dance the institution started Dr. Annie Besant Sangeet Academy with the affiliation from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. Till date many musical and cultural programs have been conducted to encourage the children. Providing them a platform to perform and opportunity to give performance in front of live audience.
It happened that somehow unknowingly some children with acute mental retardation came to our school for studies. But taking it as a challenge; in the year 2002 again we started a new journey for the welfare of the children who are mentally disabled it was quite a challenging & tough to find such children from the society.
Starting in 2001, till today every year door to door survey in interior villages have been done & in the year 2003 in got affiliation from Department of Social Justice got the name registered as Dr. Annie Besant Sp. Mentally Retarded School. The first student of this institution was Ruchita Bareley, Roshni Sharma, Priyanka Parey and Sheelu Sarathe. These Students parents gave a good jerk to the society to neglect their wards disability & got admission in our institution.
With the view of making these students self dependent to make them to join hands in the main social of society & to provide rehabilitation our institution is working on and on round the clock for them
