Since its inception in 1962, this organization is one of the foremost institutions in the field of welfare of visually impaired community, working tirelessly to promote inclusion, independence and dignity for the blinds across India.
Our core mission is to provide free and accessible education, specialized training, rehabilitation, and skill development opportunities tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired individuals. The foundation of this prestigious institution was laid in 1965 by Shri Mahesh Pratap Singh Rathore. Despite losing his eyesight at the age of six, Shri Rathore continued his education with determination. His perseverance led him to become a government school teacher, and most importantly, an inspiration to many.
Driven by a deep commitment to the welfare of the blind community, Shri Rathore ji made the remarkable decision to leave his secure government position. Without any institutional or familial financial support, he mobilized small donations from the public and established this institution—a safe, well-equipped, and inclusive learning environment. His vision was to create a space where visually impaired students could receive both academic education and practical skills training to lead independent and dignified lives.
Today, the institution stands as a testament to his dedication.
