Chetanalaya

Chetanalaya reaches out directly to more than one million people in the National Capital region of Delhi and in the rural villages of Haryana in 7 different districts. The comprehensive community development initiatives of Chetanalaya are carried out through rights-based and participatory approaches.

Chetanalaya has been recognized as the best partner NGO in financial Management by Caritas Switzerland, Catholic Relief Services and Caritas India.  Chetanalaya is chosen as a member of the Financial literacy and credit counselling centre monitoring committee of the Reserve Bank of India. Chetanalaya recently received the ‘Sresht Puraskasr’ (Award of Excellence) by IGSSS for the Best Urban Interventions in the year 2011-12. It has received the Best Low Cost Housing implementation program in India for the year 2012 by Skoch foundation and the Best NGO for accounting in climate change (environment) surpassing all CSR projects related to environment in India on World CSR day 2013 in Mumbai. Have been corporate partners with promoting livelihood programmes with Coca Cola, Pepsi, Wipro and on the verge to tie up with Asian Paints.
Chetanalaya’s involvement with govt agencies are to put an end to usage of plastic along with the Delhi govt through a campaign of GREEN SHOPPER started in 2008 under the tenure of Shrimati. Sheila Dixit and further more various promotion activities of conservation of environment under the state government along with Delhi Kalyan Samiti. Tie Ups with COIR BOARD an autonomous body under the MSME, Govt. Of India to promote eco-friendly products in the Northern part of India, the event was inaugurated by his Excellency Shri. Pranab Mukherjee.  Worked with Habitat for humanity and International organization on WASH strategies in various slum areas and rural areas.
