‘Sangath’ (सांगात in Konkani) meaning ‘togetherness’ and ‘consensus’ — embodies our mission: adopting an integrated, participatory approach to mental health. We partner with communities, health systems, and individuals to collaboratively design and deliver support at every stage of life.
Established in 1996, Sangath was initially set up as a child guidance clinic offering a traditional clinic-based approach. Eventually, Sangath adapted to address demand and supply side barriers for mental health care. In response, we innovated—developing, evaluating, and scaling cost-effective, community-centred, evidence-based interventions tailored for low-resource settings.
