Disha Charitable Trust was founded in the year 1999 by Mrs. Prabha Mehta a writer, academician, poet and social activist. She along with a committed group of professionals started a Referral, Information and Guidance Centre for persons with disabilities. From an humble beginning as a Guidance Centre in 1999 to currently one of the Centres of Excellence for Autism and other developmental disabilities in the country was a remarkable journey
DISHA is governed by a leadership structure made up of two bodies, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Management.
The Board of Management steers the organization to achieve its objectives. It provides direction and leadership to the organization, formulate appropriate strategies, decide organizational policies, approve project proposals, etc.
Disha’s Advisory Panel comprises of Doctors and experts from various fields who make extremely valuable contribution to the organization through their expertise, advice and professional inputs. Doctors Panel is headed by Dr. Manoj Ambwani, a leading Developmental Pediatrician.
